Claire Keam

Elder

I accepted Christ at a young age and was baptised at the age of 12. I was raised in a church where biblical teaching was of importance, and I am very thankful for the many years of grounded teaching and unpacking of God’s Word. I am blessed with a long family heritage of faithfully-active Christ-followers. I am passionate about God’s word and living in church community
Over the years, I have served in various aspects of church life, including home groups, youth, worship, leadership and as a children’s ministry leader.
I am a new entrant teacher in Welcome Bay. I have taught for 17+ years and love being part of the education adventure and spending my days with energy-filled kids.

Family
I am married to Hayden, and we have three children: India, Davey and Pippa. Our mad dog ‘Ranfurly’ is also very much a part of our busy whanau! My husband is a Carpenter and runs a small building business servicing the Bay of Plenty.

Bethlehem Baptist Involvement
As young adults and then newlyweds, we attended BBC in the early 2000s for a number of years. We were involved in youth and worship teams before leaving to live in Adelaide. We have been back at BBC for the last five years, and our family is actively involved in serving in various aspects of church life. I enjoy being involved in BBY on a Wednesday night and helping on the BBC Kids welcoming team on a Sunday. BBC is our home and a very large part of our lives.
