Tony Pahl

Elder

I grew up in a Christian family here in Tauranga, attending Central Baptist until I was 16. I was baptised during my youth group days after being impacted at several Easter Camps. My faith became more real and personal after leaving home. I was part of a strong young adults’ group, who encouraged my faith walk. I completed a Diploma in Ministries at The Bible College of New Zealand (now Laidlaw College) in my early twenties. In Auckland I was a member of Sandringham Baptist where I served on the Worship and Eldership teams for many years.

Family
Dawn and I were married in 1991. We met at Bible College and lived in West Auckland for 19 years, before moving back to the Bay in 2007. We lived in Omokoroa for 5 years before we bought our present home in Te Puna. We have 2 adult children, Lucas and Sophie, who presently live locally.

Bethlehem Baptist Involvement
We have been attending Bethlehem Baptist since 2007, and have felt a sense of family right from the start. I have served in several ministries including ICONZ, Youth Group, Life Group and Hospitality. Serving and being part of these different teams has been a joy. During these times I have met some amazing people, who I am blessed to call lifelong friends.

Employment
My working career has been based within the primary industry –dairy farming, agriculture education and beekeeping. We have owned and operated a commercial beekeeping business for the last 20 years. I am also a contracted moderator for Muka Tangata and Primary ITO.
